Wacky Weather Once Again!
Looks like we have a decently powerful storm coming our way. It is absolutely BLACK to the southwest.
Keep an eye out for it.

The sky is amazing. Beautiful colours... where I was I had rain and blue/purple/orange/pink/black sky. The rain and hail has stopped here but I think there will be more later.

I can see it from the north here, a few flashes of lightning and some thunder up here, that's it.

Nehkara, you live by Foothills hospital right? I live just up the hill from there in Varsity. Not a single drop of rain or hail. Sky has been all those color but considering how close you are, that's amazing.
Oh, and about 60 seconds after that first photo I posted I took this one. All the settings on the camera were exact for both photos.

I actually am at work at the Foothills. Yah, we got a hard shot of hail and then strong rain for about 10 minutes and then it stopped abruptly and near the end I saw that amazing sky.

I love that sky. Was one of the wierd things to get used to seeing when I first moved to Calgary. Has something to do with the position of the sun, darkness of the clouds, and the mountains I think.
Nice bit of rain here in the SE. Thunder in the distance.

Could have fooled me, Ken. I've heard many times about this crazy and myterious phenomenon of the Purple Sky, but I always thought for sure it had something to do with the Apocalypse! lol!
If I send this photo to my family and friends back in the Maritimes, they may believe me if I tell them the world is ending!

It looks like a pretty good-sized rainstorm is forming along the mountains, it could hit us so we might get drenched tonight.

Weird. I live in the NE. I play slo-pitch at a field just of 16th & Bowness Rd (in a school field). It was dry when I left, I go to John Laurie and south on Shaganappi. While I was waiting for the left turn (3 lights) it started to rain. As I went over Crowchild, it was pouring. When I got to the diamond (6:15) it was steady. Game was called, but by 6:30 it had almost completely stopped. When I got home again (Taradale) the ground was still bone dry.
