Rumors swirling around the CPHL from blogger Eklunde where indeed confirmed Sunday night, as the Penguins pulled the trigger with the Leafs to bring them defensemen Tomas Kaberle. The Pens were in need of a top tier blueliner and with the Leafs abundance of talent on the backend a deal between the two clubs made sense.
The Pens send top defensive defenseman Jay Mckee along with young blueliner Nick Schultz to Toronto in exchange for Kaberle and young prospect Andrei Kostitsyn (yes another Hab on the Pens!)
The Pens are hoping that Kaberle can help take some pressure of Andrei Markov and anchor the PP from the blueline.
