hey all...got the call this week from Cardel Homes that i won an entry into that contest and will be playing on Henry Burris' team.

the training camp with have 100 people, plus every member of the Calgary Stampeders. we run some drills, play some touch football, and get an autograph session in.

from there, they select 20 who will get to do a full practice with the Stamps at the stadium before the Labout Day Classic. we get track suits, some other swag, and two tickets to the game vs. EDM.

should be pretty fun. i'll post back and let you guys know what it's like to play with the stamps.

cheers.

I heard them talking about this on the radio this morning and it was mentioned that the group that wins and goes to McMahon actually gets to sign one-day contracts with the Stamps. Anytime after that you could say you were technically a pro athlete with a contract at one point. Pretty cool.

Well my advice would be to NOT try and break Burris' neck to impress the coach....Rookies who try to make an impression by hammering the starting QB in practice generally fall off the face of the earth fast.

Sounds like a good time, hopefully you make that final 20 group.

Thanks for freaking me out Nuffy. I was trying to figure out why I didn't remember my post from what looked like 40 minutes ago.

Until I finally saw I had posted it 1 year and 40 minutes ago.

All I have to say is that if your the receiver on Burris' team... don't expect the ball to come to you. In fact just run as close as you can to the defence's DB's... that's likely where its going.

Do you still get to sign a one-day contract? Don't let them lowball you, Nufy. If they do, hold out for all it's worth!

Isn't the standard payment $1? I seem to recall many moons ago when the Bombers had their open tryouts; those of us who were invited to stay for the afternoon were paid a nice crisp $1 bill.

The one guy who was asked to come back the next day; I think he got more.

I have shorts, so I need sandals, a pair of oakleys and a slurpee. Then I can kick back in the stands and watch you own Copeland.
