Canada Licence plate?

So I was driving into work today and saw a normal guy driving a normal van with a licence plate that had 5 numbers and no letters on it. It also said Canada on the top. I checked the front of his car as well and he had the same licence plate. I thought it was the strangest thing. This was not a decoration plate like some people like to have on their cars, this seemed to be an actual registered plate. He had no other province on his car.

Is that even allowed?

Yeah, it's a military plate.

if you go by CFB Calgary on Crowchild, there is still 41 Brigade HQ there and ASU Supply building. This is the building you go to when you join the Army to get all your Issued equipment. There are numerous military trucks vans and cars in the parking lot and you will see that they all have "Canada" plates.

yeah, military issue. I've got to get one for my collection some time (legally of course).

I always thought gov't vehicles had canada licences too... ?

Anyway, I see dozens of those Canada plates whenever I am driving around Wainwright due to the nearby CFB.

Over here is England, you can get personalised licence plates which are really good sometimes.

The best one is a lady who lives a few streets away from me, just simply says B1TCH. Aslong as it contains a letter and number its all good. i have also seen M1NTED and SPO1LT downtown london. Richkids.
