Default The train wreck that is Maurice Clarett

4 years ago this guy was on top of the world as one of the top running backs in the NCAA, his team had just won the NCAA championship, and he was heading for fame and fortune in the NFL. He tried to enter the draft ealry against all solid advice of coahes and those who know the system, failed, and never was able to return to school.

Today he is being sought by police for two counts of aggravated armed robbery and is being asked to turn himself in so no one gets hurt if the police find him first.

A fall from grace as rapid and sad as any I remember.

What's hilarious is that he actually screwed himself out of any sizeable money that he could've received rather easily from the Broncos. He was so into that 'proving myself worthy' charade that he tabled the contract offer to the Broncos and was basically in camp for free relative to what he could've legitimately been offered by them.

Sad. Real sad when you don't even have the motivation to beat out Ron Dayne for the third spot.

Serves him right. You can have all the god given talent in the world. But if you don't have the work ethic, or brains for that matter, it isn't going to do you alot of good.

I hope Barker is watching, trade for Williams, bring back Phillips and pay for Clarett's bail and sign him.
