Mind you, the above list was from an American source.
If it was a Canadian list, no doubt you'd see "Finnigan" up there (after the dog puppet on Mr. Dressup for Canadians of a certain vintage). I've encountered many a Finnigan at the Off Leash park.

I had a dog named Buddy before. We named him that sort of as a joke because it was so ridicualously common. We were watching a movie with Harrison Ford (Regarding Henry?) and there was a dog named buddy. Someone commented about how it was a boring and common name. The next week, we got a dog and named him Buddy.

It was a great movie, but that dog was pre-Homeward Bound ... and the dog wasn't even a Goldon Retriever.
Forgot to mention: Future dog's name (and if anyone steals it, I will hunt you down) is "Deputy"

My little one who peed all over my kitchen earlier tonight has the #16 name on the male side.
I guess everything he does can be blamed on Murphy's Law.

Abby is number 8 on the female list.
"Keeper" was named by her former family who didn't want her anymore when she was one year old. You won't find that name on too many lists.
The twosome on the bald butt prairie near our place.

My dog's name is not on the list, but he shares the name with a poster (user name) on this thread! Does that count?

Yep. My dog's name is Finnigan, obviously named after the Mr. Dressup puppet.
Little cocker spaniel who's never been trained and acts like a mutt but we still love him.

My dog's name is Fenway. While it's not on the list, I'm sure there are a lot of dogs in New England with that name.
