Default Anyone know of any Landlord/Apartment/Tenant organization in Calgary with any teeth?

I'm curious if anyone knows of an organization dealing with Landlord/Apartment/Tenant issues in Calgary that has some teeth. Perhaps one that Landlords are afraid of getting on their "poop" list with. Anyone?

Not sure, I only know of avenues to go after a tenant.

EDIT: Though I do know a number of landlords that are on here: http://www.calapt.org/

This service seems to be available only in Edmonton:

http://www.governmentservices.gov.ab...=section:rtdrs

The Government of Alberta is testing a new service in Edmonton that allows landlords and tenants to resolve serious disputes outside of court. It is called the Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service (RTDRS).

Information for Tenants:

Moving Out:

Exactly.. the walkthrough should be done by both of you at the same time, and you should have the check list that was done on move in. Take a digital camera and record everything.

If they keep a bunch of money for no reason, you can take them to small claims court.

I had a landlord once that basically claimed all this damage that didn't exist. She kept the security deposit. I checked and there was quite a history of judgements against her and talking to the manager in the building it seemed to be her MO.. in the end though I didn't sue because it was only $400 at the time and it wasn't worth the headache to me.

Bad landlords suck as much as bad tenants do.
