Default What to do in Calgary? No car.

Well, I know this topic has been done a couple times, but I have a serious, life-saving question.

My girlfriend is coming to town next week, and her vacation will cut into 4 days of my work week. So the question is, what is there for her to do here while I am busy from 6am-7pm?

Help!

The Glenbow museum is nice, and you can easily spend a day there.

Here give her my phone number…Kidding!!!!

You could send her to one of those community to lakes and if you don’t live close she could always just do Sicome(sp?) girls love the lake…Hence I love the lake

The Zoo
Heritage Park
The Glenbow has a new exhibit on Egypt etc and the Asian wing that's been there for a really long time, interesting stuff to wander through and with all day to spend she could see everything twice.
Shopping spree - no PST!
I saw a book...in the Glenbow store in fact, that was walking tours of Calgary which pointed out some of the historical things and other interesting tidbits.
There are likely tours she could hook up with which would take you to Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump.
She could take the bus to Banff and rent a bike and wander around for a day...although it might even be less for her to rent a car and go on a self guided tour. Drive out to Kananaskis even and hike around the lakes or something like that.

That should get you started.

Rent a pair of bikes and start off on the paths downtown. Head up to the Elbow River pathway to Sandy Beach, past Glenmore and into the Weaselhead Area.

Or head the other way and head to Fish Creek.

Wasn't there some Asian guy who was visiting Calgary last year who had no car and kept posting his complaints in here? Some of those threads were brutal.

Back on topic, these suggestions are great (especially J Pold's 1st, LOL)

There is always the always the forgotten Science Centre and shopping down Stephen Ave /TD Square etc...Are you near a C-Train stop?

There's a place in the +15 around 1st street and 4th ave SW called "Lunchbox theatre." Not sure exactly what it is or if it's any good but there's always a line up to get in.

Get drunk.

Then loiter and yell a lot. Ralph Klein might show up and throw change at her. You never know.
