Default Miserably hot weather

Don't know about the rest of you, but it is ludicrously hot here in Wichita, KS. The high today was 109 F. That's 43CDN . Couple that with 76% humidity and it gets even worse. The sun has set and it's cooled off nicely to 97!

Why did I ever leave Montana?

Uggh that's disgusting! I hate hot, humid weather... Ottawa got to 33 today with 44% humidity and I could barely handle it!

The forecast calls for temperatures over 100F until Friday when it is only supposed to reach 99. It's really been a fairly mild summer for here until this past week.

I remember several years ago in August when my in-laws were down from B.C. we were over 100 something like 18/19 days during one stretch of that month. They actually went home early because of the heat.

I can barely handle 27... that's it. I'm moving to Alaska.

I think it's true as well. From everyone I talk too about the way winters used to be here in Calgary, it's much different than what we've experienced over the past few years. Each of two winters I've been here we've only had a couple cold stretches that stopped us from working outdoors. I've been pleaseantly surprised with how mild the winters have been here. The heat on the other hand, for a couple stretches already this summer, has been almost unbearable.

The local news just said that the temperature reached at least 100F in 21/50 states today. They had our temp officially at 105, but my thermometer said 109. I am several miles west of the official station too. The most stunning thing of the report.....117F in, you guessed it, FERGUS FALLS, Minnesota!

Unreal.

Yeah, there was another place. Probably was South Dakota. I believe Fergus Falls is right on Minnesota's western border with the Dakotas so that makes sense.

It was 103 in Iowa City today--and with the humidity it was like walking through hot jello. Horrible. I miss Calgary.

I love the heat, even if it is extremely hot. Thats the beauty of AC. I will take hot and humid weather over snow and cold anytime. In fact, I wish it was like this all year round. If I never saw another drop of snow in my life, I would be estatic....

I think its all about acclimation. When I first moved to the NC/VA area, I wouldn't be able to even stay outside for more than a few minutes when the temp was over 90. Now I don't have any issues running 6 or 7 miles in 100 degree heat.

Back from Vegas last night...days of 112, 115 and yesterday, 117.
That's 44, 44, and 48C. The lows were hovering around 31C.

Hottest temperatures I've ever been in. I don't care if its a dry heat...at 48C your still sucking in warm air with every breath.

So hot that our plane (AirCanada, surprise, surprise) was delayed 2.5h becaue the cooling systems weren't functioning.

It's hotter than hell here - and I read a report yesterday that it will be this way until the end of October. Usually we get a nice marine layer that keeps the coast nice and cool but it has been non-existent this year. My wife and I were were discussing buying an air-conditioner this weekend it's been so hot.

Well, we are coming down from Calgary. We plan on getting out to the coast and driving up through Oregon (along the coast) to Seattle. I was hoping it wasn't as hot right on the coast - oh well. As long as the beer is cold

100+ degrees every day last week in Dallas. Starting to suck. Even the rink is too hot, the ice takes forever to freeze, and you just die on the bench.

That said, hot hockey is better than no hockey!

Same crap here in LA....Ridiculously hot and muggy today too...Step outside and you sweat. Eddie, I know what you are saying. The last few winters I've seen in CGY have been mild, whereas when I was kid, it was snow, cold, snow, cold, cold, snow, more snow...Just isn't that way anymore...

Global Warming is fantastic!
