I will never forget the eruption in 1980, as I was working in Lethbridge that summer, and the ash was coming down like it was snowing in January.

Hold on to your hats!!

In the summer of 1980, I was bicycling down through BC, Idaho and Montana and the volcanic dust was EVERYWHERE. Not enough to hamper my breathing but coating plants, etc. I hopped a railway fence to get to a river for some water and "POOF" the dust rose like a cloud as soon as I landed on the foliage.

Interesting time.
