Default Great evening for football

Hey guys, get out to the Stamps game tonight. It would be nice to break the 30,000 mark for the first time this year. Great night for some beer and hot dogs and peanuts, and a great night to watch some good football action.

It's funny how we had a streak of games over 30,000 through the Feterick era, and now when we actualy have a chance, not as many people are interested.

Get out there and support the team!

Go Stamps Go!

It was a great evening for football and we had 31,200 and change. Unfortunately, the Stamps played easily their worst game under the new regime. They were listless right from the get-go and showed no signs of a team who was interested in even playing, let alone winning.

I can honestly say all the conditions were favourable for a great evening of football, but the Stamps spoiled it big time. First time in my two years as a season ticket holder I can say I was not even remotely close to entertained and quite frankly, feel like it was the first time that the money spent on the ticket was a complete waste.

This week, this team hit the bottom. There is no possible way that I could see them playing worse than that next week. I don't think they're capable of being that terrible two times in a row. I can say JR Ruffin played one hell of game and the rest of the team looked unprofessional. That my friends, was a joke.

Is it me or is Henry Burris Marcus Crandell with a better arm? The guy just can't read a defence to save his life, hey Henry try to maybe look off a receiver once in awhile that way the defence isn't standing there waiting for the ball when it comes down. For all the Burris lovers out there, his receivers most notably Thurmon were a joke last night.

It was a pathetic effort all around for the Stamps. Stupid penalties, poor tackling, no effort at all.

The O-line was brutal and made few holes for Reynolds and had no protection at all for Burris.

Burris was not great but he was under pressure all game and had no help at all from his recievers. Thurman dropped two TD passes and the other recievers did nothing to help Burris ouot by coming back to the ball or fighting for it.

I expect Dickenson to have a good game because he is the best QB in the league but to have the defense make Joe Smith look like a quality back in this league with their pathetic effort and crappy tackling was inexcusable.

On a positive note the Stamps are still in a tie for first place in the West and other than Montreal no team has looked better than them this season. Each team in the west has looked inconsistent and weak. Calgary should fight BC for tops in the West and with their running game and DD's fraility I think they should win out.

I watched a couple minutes in the third when Burris therw that nice pick. Looked like Calgary was just horrible all around.

Yep. All of the above is true about the on field product. But I must say. The weather was fantastic, which made the beer taste a titch better and made the ladies a titch less covered up. By the fourth quarter a lot of my vision was in and around me in the stands.

Damn there were a lot of good lookers there!

I guess the good news is that the Esks and Riders lost this week...if you're not going to make a push to go up in the standings, the guys below you might as well stay below you*...

That was my first football game in years. I agree, the weather was amazing, but yikes, the onfield product was a disaster.

I actually gave up my season tickets this year. In past years with the early bird discount, and the fact that you make a small deposit in December the tickets were cheap enough to not even consider price as a factor in buying them. But this season with them going from around $130 to $210 per seat, I had to decline.

Long term contracts and pre-buying games that may not happen just aren't what makes for good marketing in my books.
