Heck if it's an added problem to the dominant problem of promiscuity and adultery etc why not just tackle that underlying problem? You know cut the entire penis off of something. That'll help stem the tide.
Or perhaps the underlying problem is lack of education and condoms. Perhaps tackling that would be more useful.
Of course the real question this study raise to me is this: what sections of life are the circumcised men from? Are circumcised men in Africa from more western backgrounds (western countries predominantly the US is where circumcision is most common) and have better access to education? Do the traditionalists practice circumcision? Could be wrong but I don't think so.
Why is it that AIDS isn't running rampant across Europe where over 90% of the population is not circumcised? Or Canada where over 80 % of the population is not circumcised? It's education primarily and access to condoms and what not.
I understand the concern and the level of the crisis but is mandatory circumcision the answer over education? In the end, if the population isn't given the education in this matter, circumcised or not AIDS wil continue to propogate through the population. Which is what the article also says.
