its all cool, LM thanks

we bought the agency about 3 years ago.

the agency itself has been around for 30 years here in our community and the lady who owned it was gonna shut it down if she wasnt able to sell it. Her husband was transfered and she needed to bail.

We were able to secure it for a good price and have been rebuilding it ever since. making changes to the way its marketed and stuff. Also adding the online portion. I didnt want to see a fixture of the area go down after 30 years.

It was a great investment and we are very happy to be doing this. Maybe one day it will actually turn a profit..

no worries, CF

but having said that.
if anybody reading this wouldnt mind.

would you please book your westjet flights through our website.
www.yellowheadtravel.com

just go to our site, click on the westjet logo and it takes you to the westjet site but this way, we make a couple of bucks on the booking and I will in turn make a small contribution to cp on your behalf.

pricing through our site to westjet is the same as booking at the westjet site, but you get to help out a fellow CP'er.

thanks very much in advance.
best wishes and thanks in advance for the business.
regards

I just saw that the link only books flights. We booked through their vacations site and got a package. So no harm done.

Few questions for you Axel...

1 - do you do any dealing with Marine Atlantic? I *might* be heading over to the Rock this month. The odds are slim but if I can help out a fellow CPer, and if CP gets any money out of it, I'd be more than happy to book via you.

2 - is it only West Jet that you can book online from your site? Do you have similar booking deals with CanJet, AirCanada, or SunWing?

3 - this isn't really a major thing, no need to do any research or anything, but I was curious what the cheapest airfare you've seen from Halifax to Calgary was, or might be. I doubt I'll be making it out west any time in the near future, but I always like to think of the possibility (perhaps for the 2007 SCF? )

4 - also, are your hot deals exclusively for Calgary, or do you have any from other cities in Canada (such as Edmonton, Vancouver for some of the other readers here, or in my own self-interest, Halifax or Sydney?)

not familiar with Marine Atlantic but I can do some research, will get back to you.

no..I have a direct click through on my site for westjet, but, you can do a flight search through my booking engine for the other companies. Air Canada has gotten totally away from providing Travel Agencies with any form of commission, so now in order to book them, we have to do an agency surcharge. If you were to book an Aircanada flight, you would be best off to do it directly on their website. My feelings would not be hurt. P.S. Westjet is a much better airline!!!!

3 - this isn't really a major thing, no need to do any research or anything, but I was curious what the cheapest airfare you've seen from Halifax to Calgary was, or might be. I have found that offseason flights tend to be a bit cheaper, but I spoke with Westjet a while back and they advised me that when the flight first comes online, its always the cheapest then. As the plane starts to fill up, the prices at westjet start to increase. They advise that they have 7 diffrent price levels so prices increase rather quickly as the plane becomes fuller. Best thing to do is check as soon as you know you want to fly.

4 - also, are your hot deals exclusively for Calgary, or do you have any from other cities in Canada (such as Edmonton, Vancouver for some of the other readers here, or in my own self-interest, Halifax or Sydney?)
you can book out of anywhere in canada through us. I am not limited to Calgary and more specifically Edmonton. If you want to fly from Halifax or Sydney that can be arranged. Just remember, most sun destinations go through Toronto or Montreal out your way. Cheese just booked with me and he lives in Waterloo, so I was able to book him out of TO.

Would you be able to book flight leaving from the UK (specifically Scotland) I'm going to be there for school starting Sept and would like to come home (Calgary) for x-mas break if I can get a good deal.

I took a quick peak at the website, but didn't look too deeply so forgive me if the info is there.
