New Tandem in Minny
For Immediate Release.
The Minnesota Wild are pleased to announce the acquisition of a new goaltending tandem. Joining the organization are Evgeny Nabakov and Andrew Raycroft.
Raycroft was acquired in a deal with the Coyotes along with Kyle Calder in exchange for Curtis Joseph and Johnn Grahame. Calder was then shipped out to Florida alongside Jeff Halpern for Nabakov.
GM Farhall explained the deals.
”This deal was made in order to solidify our goaltending long-term, something we have been trying to do since we traded Tomas Vokoun. With Nabby we have a new veteran #1 that we think has many good years left. Andrew is a guy with think can be our #1 down the road at some point, though Hannu Toivonen will have something to say about that. The bottom line is that we can look ahead for the next few years knowing that we are very solid between the pipes…a key to CPHL success.”
