Default Gout...ouch!

Well, I know most of you on here are too young to know how this feels, but you know you're getting old when you are hobbling around on a sore foot, only to go to the doctor to find out you have GOUT!

What the BEEP!! I thought all the exercise was to avoid this kind of crap!

Anyway, if any of you older guys on here have ever experienced this, you know how freaking painful it is. Wow! The doctor just told me to take advil and rest my foot. But man does it hurt! I was hoping somebody here might have some secret home remedy they find works.

Limping along on one foot.

I had a woman that worked for me that had gout. She used to eat cherries when it got bad. I can't remember what is in the cherries that helps though...some mineral I think.

Concentrated cherry juice is supposed to work wonders. Don't know where the heck you'd find it, though. Good luck, NF!

I apparently (the walk in doc said he was pretty sure thats what it was) had gaut a handful of years ago now. Its weird, though...I was in my (very) early 20s...and was in pretty good shape (not stellar but not bad either). Glad that I didn't have it as bad as you, though...can't walk?! That sucks! I could do everything, just definately noticed that it was there...

Cheers.

My pa has this too. It can affect anyone but they say being overweight will increase your chances.

Looking at the prescriptions, he takes a lil sky blue/white pill called Indocid and it helps reduce it by a lot. If your doctor did not prescribe it to you, I think you should find another doctor. Its about $20 for a botle of it.
