Default Isles Deal with Panthers??!!!

The Isles rarely deal with the Panthers, but this afternoon, they strayed from the norm and hammered out a deal with GM Dave of Florida. Here's how it shakes down:

To Florida:

Bob Lang
, Scott Walker, Daniel Tjarnqvist

To Islanders:

Todd White, Tom Preissing, Ryan Getzlaf

The Isles did this deal for a few reasons:

- They get a lot younger and save up some cap room, although they do send some cash over to the Panthers for next season (not enough to even up, but they do send some)

- Looking at last season's results, Todd White (who was rated a 73) scored only one less point than Bob Lang (who was rated 81). A real oddity, which the Isles GM hopes indicates that Mr. White is perhaps a favourite of the SIM... This season, White has moved up to a 77 OV while Lang has dropped one point to 80

- We hate Walker.

Basically the Panthers swapped Tkachunky for Lang and traded White for Walker and Tjanqvist.

I'll take it.
