Telus Phantom Charges
Hey all, this is a question for everyone- have you ever been charged extra by Telus for something that is included in your cell plan?
I, for example, have X minutes a month, but it seems that every month there is a mysterious charge for airtime for one or two of the calls (usually to phone numbers that i call frequently, so they aren't lond distance or anything), even though I am well under my minute usage. Does anyone else get this phantom charge?
To anyone on this board who works for Telus... do you know how this happens or can be fixed?

Telus' billing system is wonky at best, IMHO. I'm on an old plan that gives me lunch hour free, but they still show that it my total daytime minutes. The only way I have for accurately checking my minutes is going to mytelusmobility.
Every month it shows that I've used more than my 50 minutes allotted, but I never get charged for them.

like every major service provider throughout all time, they are bullies and try to sneak in extra charges wherever they can - some people stand up to them, most don't.
The worst offender for this I have seen is ICBC.

Heh, I had over $900 of phantom charges on my last bill..
Somehow without my knowledge or permission my long distance got changed back to Telus. The proceeded to bill me $3 per minute for a bunch of calls.
After hours of calls I finally got the charges removed, but of course that wasn't the end of it.
A week later I got a call from my long distance provider saying they were denied the ability to change the long distance back to them by Telus. But according to Telus they weren't the long distance provider either.
Took them forever to foil it all out.
The upside is we now use Skype for all our long distance. Free in north america, and 1/6th telus's rate to call my wife's family.

Holy crap and I thought I had it tough. I just opened the Rogers cell bill and somehow in Rogersland 12 + 1.75 = 21.6. I'm looking forward to spending an hour on the phone to save 8 bucks. It's the principle of the thing!

That's okay. I had to spend ten minutes on the phone with them yesterday to get a $100 taken off my bill. Rogers is 10x worse than Telus. And I'm not just saying that because I work for Telus.

I spent a while on the phone with them today, and the explanation i got was that my plan was for digital usage, so any time that i spent on analogue network I had to pay for and was not included in my minutes.
Still seems shady, but at least I got an explanation

I work for TELUS and I can assure you that it makes no difference if your using analog or digital. A local call is a local call. The only exception is if your on a FIDO match-it plan. If your on a FIDO match-it plan then analog is billied at 10 or 20 cents a minute.

My parents have their cell phone on a plan with Telus... and they have yet to have a problem.. even though my dad did call telus on several previous occasions for extra charges on both internet and cell phone.
As for myself, I tend to stay away from Telus with the phone stuff...

Yup, I once had a problem with Telus cell phones. Although they were kind enough to call me up and say "oops, sorry sir, we've overcharged you the past X number of months to the tune of $900. But its our policy to leave it on your bill as a credit".
Needless to say, I got a $900 plus cheque cut and sent to me (after some, umm, polite words shall we say).

Lol yeah that was their line too.. $900 was going to come out of my acount and they'd put a $900 credit on my bill. They didn't give the the cheque option so I called back and removed direct debit and only paid the non-long distance portion of my bill until they foiled it out.
