I would very much doubt Word has such a feature. If you want to do what you're saying, the best way to do it is turn your document into a pdf.

You can produce a PDF from Word that is uncopyable. To do this, you need a copy of Acrobat Exchange (not just Acrobat Reader), and a postcript printer driver.

You've gotta use Acrobat Distiller to make the PDF, rather than simply a PDF-printer. This means printing the file as a postscript file, which will save the file with a .ps format. Should be able to do this through your print window in word.

Once you've got your postscript file, in Distiller, open settings and security, and then select 'Do not allow selecting text and graphics', as well as the 'do not allow editing'. Now run your word file through your Distiller. And you've got an uncopyable file.

PDF is the way to go for sure. All our PO's at work are done in Adobe, as it's the only way you can be sure they can't be changed. Even the security features of excel aren't worth a sh*t...I have a password crack for Excel spreadsheets I use when the dummies at work forget theirs.

Jesus cripes. What a pain in the ass.
In my version of Word there is a little PDF icon underneath the little "piece of paper" icon that is underneath the word "File". I just click that and go through a couple motions and it is un-alterable. Do you have that?

I thought word 2003 had the feature you are after, but since I don't have it at work, I can't help you any further right now.

I have a document I want the viewer to only be able to read or print. I do not want them to be able to copy anything out of it (unless they scan it or something).

Is there a way to do it.

Read-only does not work as you can copy anything.
Why not just take a screen shot? Readable. Printable. Not copyable. Simple.
