Default Pens and Sabres swap players

The Pittsburgh Penguins are pleased to announce the aquistion of defensemen Jay Mckee and forward Brendan Morrison from the Buffalo Sabres, in exchange for forward Mike Ribiero, and defensemen Jaroslav Modry and Luke Richardson. GM Goffie said this move was hard to make as it hurt the team depth, but he feels confident the aquisition of Mckee willl give the Pens a defensive force on the blueline. " Watching Mckee in the NHL playoffs this past season, the number of shots he blocked was amazing, he was in the right place at the right time, and really took away the shooting lane from his opposition. We felt we needed a guy like him to help our defensive zone coverage."

It is also rumored that Coach Lindy Ruff gave a bit of insight on this deal as he knows what Mckee will bring. As for Brendan Morrison the Pens organization are unsure where he stands in next years plans and he could be traded before he ever arrives in Pittsburgh.

My clients getting no respect. All we ask is the Morrison receive the airmile points. In fact we may demand that in his contract.

Well we here in Pittsburgh are respecting our players, unlike some GM's we asked Brendan if he would be happy with the role we had planned for him, and he said if possible he would like to go somewhere and be the primary offensive weapon, so we respected his wishes and said we would move him if we recieve appropriate value in return. Right now Brendan and his family are soaking up the sun on a Maui beach, taken care of 100% by the Pens management....How's that for respect

He was glad you did that but was wondering why you never sent him first class.

I thought he did, at least I paid for it. I made the arrangements through www.yellowheadtravel.com.

I guess Axel ripped me off

I bet Morrison is just telling his agent that he didn't go First Class when he actually hocked the tickets and took the money. Probably took the family to the shores of Lake Erie and tells them Hawaii is a bit cold this time of year.

Sabres respond

"It was tough with us to part with Jay McKee. He's been a Sabre off and on for the last several CPHL seasons, and we expect he'll be back at some point. There's no secret that MOrrison was the subject of many rumours , in the hopes of improving Buffalo's D...Modry was the key here, same OV ranking as McKee but brings better DF and OF numbers, and Richardson will upgrade our bottom pair and provide experience. Up front Ribeiro may be a punk, but he has some skills. He should do ok on our 2nd line with Brendan Morrow and Ruslan Fedotenko.
