I'm glad Chip & Kim won, I couldn't stand the other two teams. The religous chick had to be the biggest wuss on the show.

That's the first episode I've watched from beginning to end.
Nice of them to include Calgary but . . . . . when they finished the day there wasn't a lot of accomplishment except hanging out at the Airport Hotel. If it hadn't been for the flight delay to make it interesting the next morning . . . .
Good exposure for the area though. Looked damned cold!!

I was laughing my ass off when she broke down on the hill because her "brakes wouldn't work" Muahahahhaha!!!!
And this show made me realize how small our airport really is. Nothing is open at night!!

Did anyone else crack up when god couple #1 Said "just picture jesus at the top, and he is holding his arms out" I pretty much turned it off after that.

Yup, that was the best thing I have seen on TV in a while. Dude how good could this jesus guyreally have been?
But I was cheering for Colin and Christie. They were the best team by far and hell she was quite good looking also. That Chip guy just p*ssed me off after a while, just seemed two faced to me.
I laughed at the luge scenes though.

Are you kidding me? Colin was the biggest jerk on the show. He might have been a strong competitor but could he have a bigger ego? Christie might have been good looking but she was hopeless. They were not much of a team. Did she actually do anything constructive to help. They also screamed at each other way too many times to deserve to win. Don't even get me started on the "God" team.
Chip & Kim played the 'game.' So they double crossed & were two faced to the other teams. Who wouldn't if a million dollars was at stake? Good for them. I was really happy to see them win. They stuck by each other the entire race.

That was awesome.
Nothing made me more happy than seeing the girl model freaking out on the bike slalom. haha.
If anything the entire leg just reaffirmed America's belief that Calgary is a desolate snow town like most Canadain cities. They had some really nice shots of the city too.
Way to go Calgary, you did me proud.
Oh, and the right team won!

So when they're buying plane tickets do they have to buy them for the camera operators too? It seems like it would be much easier to travel at a quick pace without some guy hauling 50lbs worth of camera equipment tagging you? I notice that they film in flight so unless CBS is buying tickets on every possibel flight before hand I find it strange that the crew always manages to get a seat on the flight?

I have never seen them film while they are flying. It's the usual sitting in their seats, door closing (from outside) and plane taking off. My guess is that they have crews in each location. Probably contract it out locally.

Exactly, well said Jagger!!
The most likable team won, for sure.
I was hoping for them to win for pretty much the entire series, but especially over the other two final teams.
Thought they might have lost the race during the snowshoeing part, but it actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Easily my favourite 'reality' series. Very fun to watch.

First of all that is a good show. I'd never seen it before tonight and I was quite entertained.
Anyhow -- I noticed a lot of brand names made it on-screen. That kind of thing has a lot of pull towards getting the crew/camera man on board the plane I'm sure. There is definitely some sort of arrangement going on.
They were definitely filming while they flew. That goofy guy with the blond hair was reading his bible and hoping Jesus would help him win the million bucks (which is exactly the whole point of praying -- to get money).

Chip and Kim were/are likeable but Colin and Christie deserved the money much more then them. Chip and Kim won basically because it was foggy in Calgary and the first plane was delayed.

Them's the breaks.....
Chip & Kim played the game well and stuck together through thick and thin. Colin was excellent at most challenges but there's no way I thought that he deserved the money given his huge ego and rotten attitude. Christie wanted to do the race to see if they had a chance at marriage. Well, given their constant bickering and lack of support for one another, I don't give that one much hope. They really were not much of a team IMO.
Good show though. Only reality TV I actually like.

Don't these people watch The Simpsons? If I was on the show I'd be screaming "Save me Jeebus!" All the time, oh man!
Glad to see Chip and Kim win, of all the teams they appeared to be enjoying the race the most. Sure Kim wasn't very helpful but she always stood by her man and did her part without arguing and disrupting the race like the other women.
Colin is an ego freak and Christie is a weakling, how can she put up with him? In fact, how can anyone put up with him? However, Colin did seem somewhat normal at the end of the race, maybe the competitive spirit turns him into a jerk? Maybe Christie will see the show and realize what a dick he was to her, doubtful though.
As for Brandon and Nicole, really, how far can faith get you? "Jesus, Allah, Buddha, one of you guys help us!"

Was anyone else wondering how much the cab from the airport to Sunshine and back would have cost? Man, that couldn't be cheap. I see why they got $630 at the start of the leg.

The best team won. They played the game.
American airlines owes a couple of million dollars. I was surprised that it wasn't an Air Canada flight that was delayed or lost their bags.
The driver of the Town Car rocked!! I should try that on my morning commute.

I thought I heard them say it was an $80 cab ride to Sunshine.

I've never watched this show but thought it was quite good. A few questions I'm wondering:
1) Can they not rent cars? It seems to me that they would have made up a lot in time if that was the case. Could they charter a private jet?
2) How does equipment and clothing get to the teams? Are they just given stuff? (ie the parkas and tuques each team was sporting - didn't see them pop into a Sport Chek or anything.
3) Apparently they haven't heard that Horizon, AmericaWorst, and AlaskaAir all fly into Calgary - aside from American and United. Might have been able to swing something to another US hub that way. I wonder if connections through Toronto might have been another viable alternative.
Good show, I'll have to try and catch a few episodes the next time.
