Neither. He's just a moron.
What kind of loser goes out with a megaphone and shouts at teenage girls about liking Justin Timberlake?
I do agree with all his "this is bad" choices though.

Bah. Music snobbery really bugs me. A guy like this equates all mainstream music = bad music. Hey - in a lot of cases he's right. But if people enjoy this music than what's the harm?

I agree about musical snobbery.
I'm NOT a Celine Dion fan but she's sold something like 175 million albums, making her the top seller in music history.
Yet she's pummelled from left and right as a shrieking non-talent.
Obviously the public is voting otherwise.
I'm not a Nickleback fan either. I barely know they exist. But I consistently see drive-by's of this band via music critics.
Its almost as though the critics are offended these people sell albums in spite of their opinions.
Weird.

I watched a couple of the guy's videos, and I thought to myself "this guy is trying to be like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, but without being funny". I think he's just trying to bring attention to himself, using this avenue, and it's working. Good for him.
I'll never understand why there's such music snobbery though. It's a personal choice. If you don't like it, don't listen to it - and don't chastise the ones that do like it.

My favorite snobs are radiohead fans. They sh*t on everyone and everything else..but then when they find someone that also like radiohead they get all offended because it's their band and no one else is permitted to like them.

Musical snobbery works both ways. I had a girlfriend who liked the sh*ttiest music, basically she was an MTV child. I could put up with it, but in the car when I tried to put my music on she sh*t down my throat for it.

What a moron.
I agree with his list, those bands do suck, but man, what a geek. Why doesn't he list what kind of indie rock alt underground garage New York grunge bands he enjoys? I bet he only listens to music on vinyl. He is so kewl!

I love it it's true video did kill the radio star. Unless you have the look you will never make it as a singer regardless how talented you are. The music industry isn't about variety and creativity it's about look and image. That's what acting is about not music

I actually feel kind of sorry for the guy. He doesn't realize how stupid he looks doing those antics.
I agree that the bands he targets are cheesey, but who cares what kind of music other people listen to. Why waste your time? What a dolt!

Well certainly some of the music industry is like that, but not all of it. Not even all the music the self-appointed expert hates is made by people chosen because of their looks.
Nickelback isn't famous because Chad Kroeger is some Adonis. He looks like a horse for crying out loud.

Ya but that bassist... alright, no one knows what the bassist looks like. No one ever knows what a bassit looks like, that is why they play bass, they suck.

Flea is an exception to bass players sucking. He may not be a beautiful man but he can play, and I like his "look". That has to count for something.

What MM says it true in a "guitar" rock band, but in a funk rock band, the bass player is tops.

why aren't we just allowed to like what we like.
end of story.
If you like the music - good for you.
There really should be no "good music"/"bad music".

You get a good bass player and he can take you where you never knew you could go. The infusion of funk into rock is awesome.

Bass is probably the easiest intrument to get by on, but one of the hardest to get ahead on.

^^ Of course
It's easy to play the roots of power chords, but in order to get something good out of it you need someone who can go crazy on the scales for each root.
