In the Pitt International Airport there is a big display with a montage of Mr. Rogers that read "Pittsburgh is Mr. Rogers Neighborhood". It was sweet.

That clip was awesome. I actually wanted to travel back in time and give him some money for his show.

Mr. Rogers started in Canada actually, and his understudy Ernie Coombs went on to become Mr. Dress-Up.

Man, did he ever have it right. We just bombard kids with crap (marketing) with little regard except for making them want to buy the shows lunch box, or blanket or halloween costume. And my friends wonder why I am so selective as to what my kid watches.

I had an A-team lunch box (in fact I still have it). It is pretty much this one:

It's too bad people tend to label him as a phedophile. I think the guy was genuine in his care for children.

There were a number of rumours about him, but they are all false. He was genuinely as good as his character on TV.

Sad that people have to resort to smearing his good name, just because they could not accept a man this good natured with children.

Me too. But you could probably find a murderer who once owned one. Then you could blame it on the lunchbox, columbine style.
