Default Converting dvd to mpeg or avi

Hey,
Hopefully one of you can help me with this. I've got a DVD ripped onto my computer but I need to convert it to mpeg or avi. Does anyone know of any free program that will take care of this for me?

sorry to hijack the thread, but does anybody also know of a free program to convert full DVD's (not just pieces) to your computer, I have a scratched DVD that won't work in the DVD player but I want to see if I can salvage anything.

DVD Shrink will work for that.

Yeah that'll work. I prefer using DVDFab Decrypter, or DvdDecrypter for ripping though. They'll usually get the more stubborn discs.

For your problem, you can try AutoGK. I know it will convert to DIVX, so it should do avi or mpg as well.

I've used DVD decrypter to rip AND burn DVDs (only in ISO though) and it has worked perfectly.. if the link doesn't work... give me a PM... I should be able to send it over

Hey thanks,
That worked. CP never fails. Took a long ass time but it worked. Now I have an .avi thats 40 minutes long. Anyone know of any good editing software that won't cost me? I basically need to edit it into smaller segments...and blur some faces...hmm. Anyone know of anything good?

Decrypter is starting to work less and less now becuase it doesn't get updated to get by the new encryptions. DVDFab works well though.
