Default Computer stores in Calgary?

Anyone have some good store recommendations for picking up computer parts in Calgary? Someplace similar to NCIX or Tiger Direct?

Memory Express. They have a location in the NE, on 32nd Ave a few blocks west of Barlow; and one in the south, on Macleod Trail just south of the Hooters/Back Alley.

EDIT: Yeah. Ditto.

There's also OEM Depot... not as much selection though...

4 Stars Computers exists as well... but they order online when u place an order... they don't carry much in stock and u have to wait...

Memory Express is the way to go... always been the way to go... lol

I order stuff online from NCIX quite frequently. Service is great, selection is awesome, and the stuff usually arrives the next day.

Nothing but good things to say about Memory Express. Truly a small business making good in the day of big box store madness.

Another vote for Memory Express. As a geek; they are awesome. As a geek who send customers there; they are also awesome.

The sell what you need; not what will make the most commission. After sales they stand behind what they sell.

Yeah me too. NCIX is definitely one of the best and is usually where I give my business. But I'm looking to pick up a cheap case and with shipping and tax, the price nearly doubles. Just not worth it.

Checking out MemEx's site they have pretty comparable prices on alot of items. What is higher would be made up with not having to pay for shipping.

Thanks for the other suggestions too guys. I'll have to check them out.

www.ncix.com Don't have to fight McLeod traffic and most of the time it's cheaper after delivery than buying it straight from Memory express.

i thought memory express was THE place until i tried to buy a clearance item.

i showed up and their computer said there were two on the shelves but they couldn't find them, didn't even try.

hey, it's only a grand, why bother?

there's an arrogant taint in dealing with them, so in the future i will only regard them as i do tiger-direct - find a target price and/or mail order, and skip the attitude section.

Memory Express would be my first choice.

Dangeo Comptuers is also a great place, although they do everything via mail, no stock that I could see.

Bcom to me seems a smidge dodgy.

NCIX is usually the cheapest, but when you factor in shipping and wait times and possible return(s) then they arent applicable unless you do alot of buisness with them and get there elite membership (cant remember what its called).

wow.

this is a profound argument.

and no. i was there to spend money, but found a better deal than their clearance item at best buy anyway.

it's a shame because memory express, for a local distributor, has awesome prices, quite often rivaling tiger direct et al.

White Doors,

so when you shop, are you an arrogant prick, or do you just find people with a different opinion and harass them?

or do you keep your stupidity confined to CP, for our viewing pleasure?

****, and i didn't think i'd get free entertainment today!

It is great if you just need something like an old PC or monitor. And while they do have some new stuff, it isn't usually much selection. I stop in there evry so often, just to see if maybe there is something killer, but I haven't bought anything more than $10. However, for my company, we needed a few machines just to do some email, fill out some forms, and were able to get a bunch of cheap machines that were perfect for the purpose.

However, 9 times out of 10 I can know what I want and Memory Express has it in stock.
