I usually pick mine up at Wholesale Sports on 58th AVE SE. Great place to pick up gear for the best prices in town.

You'll need to get a WINS card if this is your first Alberta license. The WINS card is nice because it allows them to keep your contact info in a database and you don't have to fill out a bunch of forms every year.

I think Wholesale sports is actually kind of pricey, but they have a huge selection of stuff.

You think Wholesale is pricy? Try a more private place like West winds Fly shop, or Temple Fork Outfitters of course this is all in regards to fly fishing equipment

I'm more talking about all the other stuff they have in there, camping gear etc. I guess it is one of the cheaper places for flies when compared to the smaller shops.

Anyone know who offers a good crash course on fly fishing? I need to learn proper casting technique.

It's time to take advantage of the fly fishing capital of the world.

It's actually a WIN card (no 's') for Wildlife Identification Number

and its used for any hunting/fishing license, as said, it makes it muchos easier

Well I would suggest just getting a hold of a guide, its not to hard in this city and taking maybe a Saturday doing a float from policeman’s Flats to the Carsland weir, takes most of the day but if you can get a good guide by the end of the day you should be very improved, that all being said you better be willing to fork out the cash, some guides in this city are very expensive

Nah, you probably won't enjoy fly fishing. Go golfing instead.

Fly fishing is too much work, lol. I just want to bring my fold up chair, a crappy $50 rod one day park it next to the bow or a pond in bragg creek somewhere and relax. I don't really care if I catch anything. It's just nice and relaxing hoping for a bite and enjoying the weather.
