Default Now this is Reality TV...Nasubi

Was yakking with a co-worker at lunch and he was talking about a reality TV show in Japan where a person is put in a room with basically nothing, including clothes and told to get whatever he needs to live via coupons...which is supposedly something that a great number of Japanese do. Nasubi apparently was locked up for a year and 3 months total.
Im sure our friend in Japan, Mr Commodore Afro knows of this show...but heres some info....

When he arrived at the apartment, he was shown a stand full of magazines, a huge pile of postcards, and told to strip naked. The room was empty except for a cushion, a table, a small radio, a telephone, some notebooks, and a few pens. There was not a crumb of food, a square of toilet paper, or any form of entertainment. Whatever he needed, he was to win by sending thousands of postcards into contests. The producers left and Nasubi was on his own in his unique survival challenge. Imagine what was going through his mind: How am I going to eat? Why are they doing this to me? How long will it take to get out of here? He must have thought he was in a bad episode of The Prisoner.

Bizarre program. But I know someone who professionally enters contests. Her huband has a regular job, and she spends her days entering contests, draws, lotteries... Usually wins a new vehicle every couple of years and sells it, and that's the bulk of her income. She's very mthodical about what she enters, examining the odds and rules of everything.

This is like the Korean Movie Old Boy or twisted version of the Truman Show about being put into a Solitary Confinement but worse.

This was totally worse than prison for the guy, did he win anything at the end?
