One major injury forthe Thrashers and two for the Wild. Patrick Lalime for the Thrashers and Saku Koivu and Dom Hasek for the Wild. All players had important roles for their respective teams, yet both managed to find the depth to make it to the finals. The Thrashers disposed of the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers to make it to the final two. The Wild dumped the Winnipeg Jets, Calgary Flames and the Detroit Red Wings.

Depth has obviously helped both teams make it as far as they have, it will now be a war of attrition...first team to four wins takes the hardware!
