Raps sign Jorge Garbajosa
http://www.marca.es/noticias/06/05/3...a_raptors.html
I geuss this guy is suppose to be one of the top 10 players in all of europe. He's a centre and very scrappy just what Collanegelo was looking at. This lowers the chance big time of the Raps drafting Bargani

Do remember as well that in Europe ball many of the highest scorers have a tough time averaging over 20 a game. He's 205 cm, plays forward and centre

Thanks, yeah I just checked on realgm that is about 6'8/6'9 so he wont be playing NBA center I don't think.
Good depth signing it sounds like, and he also speaks Italian (possible mentor for Bangnini?).

dont know why you'd want someone who hasnt played a single NBA game to mentor him

Maybe mentor isn't the right word, perhaps to just be a friend/friendly influence?
It is good to see you back Mike.

Sounds like a good aquisition, if somewhat similar to most of Toronto's other big-men (not really big, but with a good outside game), though from most reports, he's a decent defender; something Toronto sorely needs. Not sure how he'll fit into the lineup, but more quality players means more flexibility.

Thanks CaramonLS.
Anyways I don't know if that is necessary as we already have a couple players that he could get along with in Hoffa and Calderon.
I could see the raptors trading down a few spots for a proven PG and maybe drafting Gay or Roy.

Man. I was a fan of Hoffa. If he can adapt to the NBA game and doesnt have fans at home booing him he may turn out decent. the booing part he probably wont have to worry about seeing as that is his hometown.
He does have an NBA body for sure, also a work ethic, and has the intensity. Good midrange jumper, is a banger but needs to work a bit on positioning and post moves. This should come with time and proper coaching.

Mid range jumper? I've seen him take wide open looks from the middle of the key because people have absolutely no respect for his jump shot. What do you know they miss, almost every time.
I don't think we're talking about the next Big Z in terms of big man jump shooters.
I just saw a guy who didn't really get up and down the floor really well, took a ton of quick fouls, and looked out of place a good deal of the time.

actually I thought his jumper was decent. Although not when heavily under pressure, but good for atleast 60% of the time. Good form and everything.
