Whoops! Bit of a rough game for Joseph, but fortunately a worse game by the Thrasher goalies. I get the feeling they were maybe a little too relaxed from being overconfident after a farely easy run so far. Maybe a big mistake as they just gave Minny home ice advantage for the final series.

Series becomes a best of 5!

Todays game saw both teams play fairly evenly...except for the second period. The Wild outscored the Thrashers 4-0 in that frame and the game was over. The Thrashers mad a good comeback in the 3rd almost tieing the game...but a bad penalty gave the Wild hope and they managed to hang on for the win.

Goalie Statistics
Jamie Mclennan (WIL), 2 saves out of 2 shots
Curtis Joseph (WIL), 20 saves out of 25 shots, W, 11-8-0
Andy Chiodo (THR), 8 saves out of 11 shots
Garth Snow (THR), 11 saves out of 16 shots, L, 9-3-0

Power Play Conversions

WILD 3 for 7
THRASHERS 3 for 6

Game Stars

1 - Todd Marchant (WIL)
2 - Marian Hossa (WIL)
3 - Peter Bondra (THR)

Game 3 tomorrow in Minnesota!

Where's the D?

They say defense wins championships.

Obviously someone forgot to tell the Minny Wild and Atlanta Thrashers.

The two teams combined Sunday for 13 goals in the Wild's 8-5 Game 2 win that knots the series at 2 games each. The game featured defensive gaffes from both sides, and shakey goaltending. In fact, by the time the game was over both starters were yanked in favor of the backups.

After the game Farhall said the team can't expect to win with games like that.

"Its nice to get the win today but we can't get into those type of run and gun games with Atlanta....they have too much offense. We still haven't found our game yet in these finals but at least our offense is back on track"

Todd Marchant paced the Wild attack with 1 goal and 3 assists, while Mats Sundin scored a pair. Marian Hossa, quiet for the last 3 games, also had a strong performance with 3 points.

Very entertaining game. Nice rebound by the Wild. Skrew defence. Just out gun them... Keep it up !
