Mayerthorpe Mountie slaying - movie

It's been over a year since four mounties were gunned down by James Roszco near Mayerthorpe. Canadian filmmaker Andrew Wreggitt is working on a script. It sounds like CTV is interested in producing a made for TV movie.

It also seems like the victims families are offended by the idea. I doubt enough time will ever pass for any of them.

But it's a good story. Any film maker would likely jump all over this story. Of course no one knows exactly what happened. Like Flight 93, there would be much creative licence to fill in the blanks and to gap certain events.

CTV like CBC couldn't make a movie to save their lives. Are you sure the families are offended by the making or by who is making it.....

United 93 was made by someone talented who used the information at hand to make a non-political movie.

Something tells me we will see either a wonderfully -weepy Cretin and or a baby eating Harper.

Though very, very artistically presented.

First of all I pretty much hate the idea of any movie based on a real tragedy where it isn't a documentary and they take a lot of creative licence.

That being said, while this particular story is incredibly tragic, I don't think there is a whole lot to the story. The best you could do is fill up most of the movie with filling out the characters, but if the familiy isn't on side with that then you probalby won't get it right and the whole thing is a waste.
