Holy Hossa!

The Minny Wild received a big performance for a big win on Thursday night, but unfortunately also suffered a big injury.

The Wild downed the Detroit Red Wings 6-0 to take a 2-1 lead in the best of 7 Conference Final series. Marian Hossa had a night that could go down in Wild lore with a 3 goal, 2 assists performance. Curtis Joseph was not busy, but stopped every shot for his first shut out of the post-season.

But it was not all good news for the Wild.

Saku Koivu suffered an eye injury and will be lost to the team for the indeterminate amount of time.

After the game GM Farhall commented on both the win and Koivu’s injury.

“It’s a big win for us obviously but losing Saku puts a bit of a damper on things. We are fortunate that we have 3 good centers and we are confident that JR and Mats can handle big minutes. But Saku is our best passer so it does hurt no matter how you look at it.”
