To All Newer Gm's
1. Please do not negotiate in bad faith.
2. Please don't offer deal and then back out.
3. Please do not agree to deals and then go back on your word when/if something a little better comes up.
4. Please be fair.
****es me and a lot of other people off and it shouldn't happen.

Actually everything there sounds like fair game when dealing with Dave. I encourage the noobs to keep it up.

This has been happening to other people as well, not just me. Make a joke out of it if you want but it drives me bananas.

Its complicated at this time of year when trades are being negotiated and discussed but can't be processed. One of the reasons why I don't really like discussing deals until the roster freeze deadline opens.

Well, I must admit I'm guilty of the charges, but I've only done it when I had or thought I had permission to do so from the person I've agreed on a trade with.
I should also state that if this was any other time of the year, I wouldn't be agreeing to trades and then shopping, but with absolutely nothing to do and no way to get a good idea of what teams value in players or picks, I am forced to do this.
I think at this time of year it's all open game for anyone until you've sent a confirmation e-mail anyways. If I confirm a trade, it's done. If I haven't confirmed, I'm probably still shopping, but only until the end of the playoffs.
Sorry if my ways have ****ed anyone off. I didn't realize it was such a problem.
[edit] Just wanted to clarify that I'm only guilty of #3 on the list.

I think people need to relax and realize that this is a game. When new people come in when theres a trade freeze in effect and don't have a mentor the trading thing can probably get overwhelming. Yes it's important that they learn how to deal, but they should also be cut some slack. Although I guess if they're not getting the message than seeing it on the board might reinforce a few things.

FYI--- I have a pending deal with Ryan, but told him it was fine with me if he shopped the player around for a better deal. IMO he can't get one, if he does, great for him! In that case, I won't mind keeping my player.
My trade with MJK is a done deal agreed to by both of us.
My deal with Matt is silly and we both agreed to that. I sent him a confirmation email. Most of the time I do that so I won't forget what I did.
I guess as long as both parties know what is happening, it is not a problem. Just make sure you are on the same wave length.

Heres the way I see it...
Talk is cheap. As I mentioned before you can be whatever kind of GM you wanna be. During the playoffs there is no trading...sorta...you can talk smack all ya want...but that doesnt mean squat. What DOES mean something is emails from each GM to each other confirming said deal. MSN is nuttin.
IF a deal is done emails must be sent to prove to the league if there is a squabble. If a GM leaves prior to trades opening again then the deal is voided anyways. So deal with care...if you BOTH accept a deal...email...or theres nothing to prove and we wont give a ****e about what anyone says anyways.
All types here...the newbs will be on a leash for two weeks after the playoffs are done anyways...so IF the league thinks the deal sucks it might not happen anyways.
bu bye.

I still don't like it as it makes the league less enjoyable.
You're right sylvanfan, it is a game. This is the reason why it should be considered common courtasy to deal in good faith.

Oh I agree Hesla and I don't think anyone has suggested otherwise. Get actively involved, but do it with class.

I agree with all the points but it's tough to expect perfection at this time of the year. During a trade freeze you can't put too much stock into what others say. And personally, I don't know why some people are in a rush to make deals. We've got all summer. We don't know the rerates yet. If a GM backs out of a deal now you've still got months to find another deal.

Theres this thing called "Outside" maybe you should go there to curb your boredom. That or you can come to Canada and go to one of these places.
Very good chance you'll find Axel choking back a few donuts there.
