Yeah I'm seriously looking forward to this game. Not sure if I'll get the PC or the 360 version though.

I have always been a PC gamer and love sim and all the Starwars LucasArts games huge Halflife fan. Lately I find that my pc just isn't good enough for better games. Thinking of getting a x360. For those that play both do you find console games can be as good without a keyboard and mouse for controls. Always resited the consoles because I don't like twitch games but the new 360 has lots of stuff I like and playing on my 50 inch HDTV would be good. Are there age of Empire type games now for consoles?

I've been wanting a good RPG since Ultima Underworld I and II but they seem to all SUCKKK!

Nope. Basically every piece of media released has been in-game stuff - this isn't EA.
I played Morrowind to death (favorite game of all-time) and have already pre-ordered Oblivion. Too bad I'm only running about 2.1 GHz right now - can't wait til the summer when exams are over and I can upgrade my processor so play Oblivion in all it's glory (yes, I'm a nerd).
CalgaryCowboy, I've always found that PC versions are best. It's hard for console games as they don't have nearly the amount of button space as a PC (keyboard) and oftentimes this makes the easiest commands on a keyboard tedious on a controller. Plus using the mouse for look move in FPS games is infinitely better than a controller joystick.
If you're asking about Oblivion in general, the PC version will be better. I played Morrowind on Xbox before I got the PC version and I can't imagine going back (based on controls alone). Add in stuff like toolkits being released with almost every PC game nowadays and the amount of new content (ie; mods) is ridiculous. Games like Morrowind had mods that essentially could have been sold and released as official expansions.

Ya, that is why I have never been into console. Just find with the newer games I can't play at top graphics even with a decent (for non gaming) computer. In GTA SanAndreas I can't play at decent res with good framerates. With a console the game is designed with one platform in mind and should have better performance. I don't use a joystick for most of my games and FPS are always mouse and keyboard.

Im gonna be illegal and download that. Im broke and I went to school to learn to make Video games and none of these multi million dollar companies will hire me so screw em. I only download games now.
I liked Morrowind, so I am definetely gonna check it out. This game looks very nice and I like RPG's.

Holy carp, fotze. Where you been, man?
Good RPG's:
From our friends in Sunny old Edmonton:
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2
Neverwinter Nights
Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2
Planescape Torment (3rd party game using Bioware engine)
even Icewind Dale was pretty good
AND Morrowind. (Best RPG EVER up to this point. Until Oblivion comes on the scene that is.)
Not a huge fan of MMORPG's but Guild Wars is really good.
and, yes, I also liked Underworld 1 and 2 too.......

No love for Ultima 7 & 7.5!? Damn!
And yeah I'd say Morrowind is the best ever. The last time I was waiting for a game this long was for Ultima 9 and I -really- hope Oblivion turns out better.

Jagger did you ever try Jade Empire? It was made as well by the BioWare guys, absolutely amazing game, is at least on par with the Star Wars ones.
I wasn't a huge fan of NWN, but BG 1&2 were amazing. If you have not played Throne of Baal expansion for #2, it is definately worth it.
You can finally use some of those spells you've always wanted too w/o scrolls.

KOTOR 2 was an unfinished POS.

only good RPG's ever were Final Fantasy 7 and the first KOTOR. The rest are whack.

That is one benefit of a console, don't have to upgrade once a year to be able to play the games at their best. I have the 360 and it does look fantastic. It's closely comparable to PC gaming now. However it will fall back in the next 1-2 years as PC games get even better.
One thing to digest in your decision, the xbox360 already allows keyboard control for some games and alot of the games coming out are going to be compatible with a mouse. I can't remember which ones, but I assume most FPS'rs will be.
Another thing to consider is game price. 360 games are pretty hefty in cost. They might come down a bit, but who knows with Microsoft. But there should be a good market of used 360 games soon which will be cheaper.
Big decision if it has to be one or the other.

Final Fantasy for NES was the best. Hardest and the best.

I've got Jade Empire but have only played it sparingly so far but, of course, I enjoyed the short amount of playing time I had. Have to find more time to play it. Having 3 kids sure gets in the way of a good time (Nah, it's just a different good time is all.)
NWN grew on me. I didn't play it for ages after initially trying it but then gave it another shot and enjoyed it immensely.
Yeah, I did play the expansion for BG2. Excellent.
I'm definitely finding the time to play Oblivion though!!!!!
