Default New Pyramid found in Europe?!?

Earlier research on the hill, known as Visocica, found that it has 45-degree slopes pointing toward the cardinal points and a flat top. Under layers of dirt, workers discovered a paved entrance plateau, entrances to tunnels and large stone blocks.

Archaeologists and other experts began digging at this central Bosnian town last week to explore the team leader's theory that the 2,120-foot hill covers a step pyramid, which would be the first ever found in Europe.

"We can see the surface is perfectly flat. This is the crucial material proof that we are talking pyramids," he said.
Osmanagic believes the structure will prove to be 722 feet high, or a third taller than Egypt's Great Pyramid of Giza.

I find this very interesting. I can't wait to see what discoveries are made.

If there turns out to be an Egyptian influence, it could lend some credibilty to the minority group in in the Balkans who identify themselves as "Egyptian".

It is believed that they are either Roma from Egypt, or decendents from Egyptian soldiers from the 4th century, however, it has been questioned by some historians.

I remember seeing a show on the Discovery Channel once about another 'hill' in Mayan lands that researchers think could actually be a giant pyramid, much larger than the Great Pyramid of Cheops.

Or it could be a chiselled mountain with natural cave entrances. To build a pyramid you need a civilization/ large population to do it. 30 to 40 hill tribesmen won't do.

This is a very far fetch theory. They have a lot of proving to do!

There has been civilization there for thousands of years. They were known as the Illyrians, and they are well documented in Greek and Roman history. In fact, there are remains of Greek colonies in modern day Bosnia.
