Default Well, I tried to watch hockey while in Mexico...

The resort I was at had sat TV - SKY. There were 4 sports channels, 2 ESPN, 1 Fox and 1 other.

The first night I was there was game 5, and I was searching on TV for the game, updates, or at least hi-lights. No luck. There were 5 soccer games on and competitive DOMINOs (to each his own, but dominos?). Since the game was a late game, it wasn't even in any of the papers the next morning, I got internet access and clicked to an article about the game (the keyboard was screwed - all the letters and numbers were jumbled or I would have come here).

I then found found that if I watched CNN International between 5:30 & 6, the final segment was sometimes hockey (I was game 6 clips this way).
I later found that although ESPN Sportcentre in the mornings was in spanish, the bottom crawl would show NHL scores (and I saw the game 7 results).

I wore my Flames ballcap all week, and was stopped a few times by people who wanted to know if I knew any recent results, and saw one kid in the Mayan ruins of Tulum wearing a Flames jersey (he must have been crazy - it had to be high 30s).

So you are saying it's your fault that they lost, eh?

I heard they were going to pump dominos to be the next poker ('sport' on tv). Seems wierd to me though... poker isn't exactly a spectator sport, but at least its fun to watch because I play poker. I don't play dominos...

I was at the same resort and saw the Dominos too... it was hilarious.

"Oh no! He's got double fours! What a blown opportunity!"

I ended up watching at a place in Play Del Carmen for games 6 and 7. They fed it over a slingbox which is TERRIBLE! You can't see the puck, redlines, or bluelines. Seemed decent for video with less motion, just not good for sports. Game 7 we found out a place down the street had an actual feed, but by that point we were down and playing like crap and I decided I'd rather see the fuzzy version.

Being outside Canada during the playoffs sucks.

I am in the U.S. right now and all you can find is basketball or baseball, no hockey. I am kind of glad though, I don't have to be reminded of the Flames being knocked out.
