I agree.

In all seriousness I think it's worst with people that have an innate need to have their fingers into everything. The quick two liner almost is some sort of positive reinforcement to them that "I've processed this, and pronounced on this".
Blackberry etiquette is horrible for meetings. click-click-click-click-click-pause. click-click-click-click-click-pause. aargh!
Really, I guess it's no different from posters who jump on Internet Forums and habitually post "I agree" to threads.

I know a few people who do the same thing. However some of them used to be the type to never respond to emails, so at least sometimes the two word message is better than no reply at all.
But I still think it's a superiority complex. We have a Blackberry at work for when we go on call, and all my "Crackberry" user friends get bent out of shape when they find out I've forwarded the phone portion to my old Star Tac cell phone so I don't have to have this big bulky thing on my hip.

I actually just lost my blackberry, as my company decided that I didnt need one, especially since I am no longer supporting them. Can't say I cried when they dropped me back to a regular cell phone.
However, one of the last messages I received was from a pain-in-the-ass user who, in trying to send a message to one of his friends, accidentally sent me a message stating that he had fixed whatever problem he was having with his blackberry, and that he "probably did it faster than those morons" in tech support.
I simply replied thanking him for the update and advising him to double check who he was sending the PM to. When he called me to try and pull his foot out of his mouth, he only managed to cram his entire leg down his throat. We all had a good laugh at that.

I had the option between a phone and a blackberry at work and there is no way you'll ever catch me with one of those POS's. Its bad enough people can phone me wherever I am, I certainly don't want to face my email when I'm not at my desk. I know people that check their work email on vacation with them... I think thats when you know you have a problem.

The Treo's are the same thing. I have one, and since getting it I use the effin thing all the time. I surf CP when I'm bored and don't have my laptop handy, I send and recieve email when I get it, and I text message almost more often than I call someone.
My cell bill when I ws in China was $700......and I thnk I made 1 or 2 calls a day. The rest was data charges for ext messages and email/internet access.

I have a phone that does email that I have yet to use (the phone) It uses a sim card so I'll have to go through Rogers.
What sort of plans/prices include emails?
I had a look at the website but all the plans with email just say blackberry, which I don't have..
It's a Nokia 6630

I despise the damned things.....I find that the vast majority of guys i deal with bring them to meetings and are constantly playing with the damned things as opposed to listening and responding as required.
It doesnt help that I live in the City that makes the damned things...and if you do any related work with RIM they demand you or your company has one.

I don't use my phone in front of people. I find it rude and awkward, for both people.. So I can't imagine being in a meeting and trying to type messages to friends and coworkers lol.. What jerks

I like my blackberry because I use it as a phone - without paying for the stupid blackberry plan. Yes, it completely destroys the whole purpose of the e-mail thing but I don't need it.
It's easier to text message at least. Love the keyboard. Plus it makes the best alarm clock in the world. Armed with it, I can sleep anywhere and know I'll wake it and it's okay for notes and calendar, etc. Also, it has a good holster and is easy to grip and pull out of the holster like I'm on Star Trek or something. All these dumb thin and mini phones are so hard to get a handle on or find when you need to answer a call.

Who is your carrier? I have a Treo through Telus and the internet is way too slow. I hardly use it. But I text alot, the Treo is awsome for that.

Rogers. It's usually fairly quick, but I find that it slows down quite a bit sometimes, especially when I'm at Flames games. I would say it has something to do with the amount of people who are using their phones at the dome.
Outside of that, the browser is actually pretty slick. The new Treo 700 has IE loaded on it, which should make it even better for surfing. Kinda funny: everyone I show it to always asks me if I can get internet porn on it. WTF? Is that all the net is good for these days?
I just ordered a new phone from the states though....I'm sick of the poor reception, dropped calls, frozen phone, stuck buttons and missing screws on my Treo.

I get the same thing because I have 3 satellite dishes on my roof. People ask why I need so much porn.

I have one through work - but it stays home whenever I'm on vacation. The last thing I want to do on vacation is check my e-mail although I know plenty of people who do.
