Are the Islamics backwards in their thoughts on things like this? Why is it ok for a "religious" group to espouse violence as opposed to sex? Its always amazed me that people buy into those theories.

It seems to me that 'violence is OK but sex is not' seems to be pretty common in many religions amd societies.

In the middle east, you see news footage of people walking around with guns strapped to their back, but the women have their face covered.

In North America you can watch TV and see a person shot and murdered (and if it is CSI, a freaky CGI rendering of the bullet entering the body and bouncing around), but if Janet Jackson pops a nipple for a second suddenly with sky is falling.

Unrelated people who kiss each other on the lips for more than five minutes at public places in the Indonesian city of Tangerang will face arrest, local media said Friday.
Kissing in public is generally frowned upon in Indonesia, especially in rural, predominantly Muslim areas, but giving a time limit for such behavior is unheard of.
