Panthers are glad to have their loss out of the way. After sweeping the Pens in 4, we knew a loss was coming. Might as well get it over early.
PK continues to suck and it's the reason we lost tonight.

Thrashers mascot intimidated Canes on the night.
Thrashers Snow proves pundits wrong!
HURRICANES 3 at THRASHERS 4
Associated Press
Update : Thrashers Win, Take 1 game lead in best of 7 quarter-finals
By D. Peterson
Garth Snow proved he had the sim Mojo tonite handing the Carolina Hurricanes their first loss in the playoffs and sending the Georgia crowd home happy!
Snow felt an emotional lift when the Atlanta Thrashers killed off two penalties late in the 1st period to Peter Bondra and Denis Gauthier.
"We have guys diving, and I don't have to make that many saves," the Atlanta goaltender said. "I think we dominated almost the whole game, so that's a good sign."
"It was a must-win tonight, and it was great to get the first win," Snow said. "We need to just keep going like that."

Four different players once again stood tall for the Georgia team as team depth is shining through once again. Denis Gauthier on a shot from the point, Marty St Louis with a wonderful deke, Scott Niedermayer again showing why he should be the #1 dman in the league and of course Bill Guerin...who was hit in his injured eye late in the game by Brad Brown. Guerin's status for game 2 is up in the air, however team doctors think he might be able to go.
"The game plan was clear - don't turn the puck over, get it deep and establish the grind," Thrashers coach and GM Dayel Peterson said. "We wanted to think we were better than them, and we took the puck away from their strong players. Both Nash and Ovechkin were held pointless, and team leader Doug Weight was also kept in check on the night!"

Rangers 3 - Panthers 2
Rangers PowerPlay remains solid, as the first two goals in the game came of the PowerPlay. Unfortanetantly the Rangers gave up a two goal lead, but they scored a huge goal in the third for the victory.
Getting the first win is a relief for the Rangers as the opposing GM was convinenced the Panthers would sweep this series.
Rangers believe this will be a long and tough series. As predicted before the Rangers have to play solid defense and their speciality teams have to be huge to have any chance in this series.
