KHABIBULIN STEALS ONE FOR THE JETS!

JETS 3 WILD 1~JETS LEAD SERIES 3-2

The Winnipeg Jets got a great goaltending performance from Khabibulin today, Nik made 34 saves in the Jets 3-1 win over the Wild in Minnesota.

"We wanted to come in and play our best game of the series, we relied on Nik to make some big saves and he was the difference today" said Jet blueliner Phil Boucher after the game.

The Jets opened the scoring on a power play goal by Sandis Ozolinsh. Ozolinsh fired a rocket over the glove of Cujo for his 3rd goal of the series. The Jets went up 2-0 early in the third when Chris Gratton banked a shot in off of Cujo while standing behind the net. John Leclair then put the Jets up by 3 when he was sent in alone by Mark Recchi. Dan Sedin scored the only goal for the Jets who lost for the 2nd time at home in the series.

Jets forward Petr Cajanek registered another assist in the game today and now leads the playoffs in scoring. The Jets look to wrap up the series at home on Sunday.

Default Detroit Pushes Preds To The Brink Of Elimination

Mike Dunham again out performs Nashville's starting goalie Rick Dipietro. Allowing four goals on 30 shots was not great but still good enough to give the Wings another one goal victory in game five. Shawn Bates and Mike Comrie combined on three of the Wings goals while Norris candidate Murray Baron roofed the game winner past Dipietro with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game. It was a howitzer of a shot as it sent the water bottle spinning into the second balcony hitting country singer legend Kenny Rogers square in the Mellon.

Its been a close tight series. Every game but one has been decided by one goal. Simon Gagne finally got his name on the score sheet but still finished the game -1. Captain Todd Bertuzzi has been by far the best Wing player in the series. Giving 110% every night, he's chipped in with points and has been the most physical player of the two teams. Game six will be a afternoon affair back in Joe Louis arena in Hockey Town USA. Game time Saturday PM mtn.

To The Brink….

If the Wild are going to advanced to the 2nd round of the playoffs its going to take a heckuva comeback.

Minnesota dropped Game 5 on Thursday meaning the team will face elimination Sunday afternoon. Last year in the first round the Wild were in a similar situation against the Predators and managed to take the series in 7 games. But this year, the team is completely void of chemistry making another comeback seem unlikely.

GM Farhall commented:

“We have too many passengers right now. Its that simple. This team has talent but for whatever reasons there are guys taking shifts off”.

When asked what he needs to do to put the team in a situation to win on Sunday, Farhall snapped back.

”Why are you asking me. Why don’t you ask JR why he has no points in this series. Or ask Jason Spezza what he’s been doing. Ask McCabe why he can’t make a decent pass, or for the love of good if ANYONE can tell me where Kristian Huselius is I’d like to know.”

He has been looking at brochures of Chicago, and checking out the housing prices. He likes what he sees

Actually there is no minimum to rosters. There is a limit of 18 skaters ane 2 goaltenders for how many guys you can have. But if you're crazy enough to only dress 11 players it's allowed. Happens in the WHL once in awhile if a team gets food poisoning on a weekend trip where they'll only have like 14 guys who can dress.

BTW, Spezza hates Chicago, thinks Jersey is waaaaay cooler. Better strippers, more gambling.

From the Rules section:

Some simple rules that must be adhered to when setting your lines are:
  1. MINIMUM requirements are at least 3RW, 3LW, 3C (12 forwards in total), 6D, and 2 G. There must be 20 players altogether. When your roster is complete, "Roster Complete" will appear in the top right hand corner of the screen.
You don't have to play all 12 forwards, or 6 d men, but they need to be in the line up.

Sometimes the sim buggers up, sometimes the Editor doesn't save lines right. Whatever happened, it hopefully gets corrected next game so the Jets have all the players the sim needs it to have.

I Know I've faced similar lineups from the Jets and I doubt I'm the only one

Just looking back at the Ducks game with the Jets on Day 142 the Jets only dressed 16 skaters that day.

I am sorry, I didn't mean to open a can of worms. I don't usually look at other teams boxscores, so I never noticed anything before. I just wanted to point out that it was wrong so Mike could fix it next game, because mistakes do happen.
