It's probably a good idea. With how "lawsuit happy" society has become, it's good that at the scene of a car crash I can say that I'm sorry about the crash, and not have it come back as a claim of guilt on my part.

Wow, is this now the legal equivalent of crossing your fingers? You can say you're sorry, but you don't really have to mean it.
