Well it looks like Aebischer will be the undoing of the Bruins. As has happened numerous times this year (and this series) the Bruins outshot the opponants (30-21 today) and still couldnt get it done. Huge hill to climb now that we are down 3-0. But, nothing is impossible I suppose.

Potvin does what he is expected and can't win a game...Shots are once again even but the Pens lose 5-3. The Pens will try to mix things up and somehow steal a win with a washed up goalie between the pipes... The Pens top line is also absent for the full series, Between them not being able to score and an having a subpar at best goalie in the net looks like an early exit for the Pens.

SABRES WORK AT MAKING THIS A SERIES
Sabres 4 Thrashers 2

Well after the Sabres staved off embarassment on the road, they actually stormed out and took game 3 in Buffalo. The Sabres fell down 2-0, meaning by that point they were being outscored 6-1 for the series, but then they added 4 unanswered goals to take this game. The scoring started with the Eliminator (TM) Martin Gelinas scoring a 2nd period tally..from there Prospal continued his fine play with a few points, and all three of the Sabres top 3 lines chipped in some as they scored the 4 straight. Veterans contributed well for Buffalo with CPHL allstar Grant Marshall picking up a rare point. JS Giguere continues to be the story of the series for Buffalo, playing very well. Sabres still looking for their first PP goal of the playoffs, 0 for 6 thus far.

Panthers Take a 3-0 Series Lead

Even the SOS signals couldn't find the Penguins top line tongiht as they were once again held off the score sheet. The big guns for the Penguins have yet to appear. Jagr, Kovalev, Forsberg and Kovalchuk are all struggling bad. Forsberg and Jegr are at the bottom of the heap with 0 points and a -4. Monster Mash are having their way, and this seems to be the biggest surprise in the series.

If the top line of the Penguins was actually playing hockey, could this be a different series? Of course. it's easy to put the blame on poor Felix Potvin but when your best players can't put the puck in the net, it's tough to win regardless.

5 different players scored for the Panthers on Sunday Night. Monster Mash is still in effect and the party contines to roll on. The Panthers PK was iffy tongiht and this game would have been a complete blowout if not for 2 Penguins goals on the man advantage.

Goalie Statistics Evgeni Nabokov (PAN), 27 saves out of 30 shots, W, 3-0-0
Jonathan Quick (PEN), 0 saves out of 0 shots
Felix Potvin (PEN), 26 saves out of 31 shots, L, 0-3-0

Power Play Conversions
PANTHERS 1 for 2
PENGUINS 2 for 3

Game Stars
1 - Mike Modano (PAN)
2 - Olli Jokinen (PAN)
3 - Sergei Gonchar (PAN)

Senators fight back from a brutal game to win 3-1.

Turco once again stood tall after his bad game. This was a game where depth players showed there stuff. Nylander, Sutton and Stajan all scored goals for the Senators. Klesla, Nedved, Amonte, Kozlov, Smyth and pronger all got assists.

Its good to see the scoring spread out a bit over 3 lines. The Sentors hope to continue to keep this rolling.

On a negative note we again took to many Penalties. Giving up 7 to the Rangers. this is one trend that will have to stop. You cant keep a team like the Rangers down if you keep giving them odd man situations.

Well I think after losing 3 close games the difference is obvious:

Evgeni NabokovPAN 3 184 2.61 3 0 0 0 8 89 .910
Felix Potvin PEN 3 182 3.96 0 3 0 0 12 87 .862

Basically the top line is struggling against a top goalie, but the Panthers top line is benefitting bigtime from shooting on a AHL calibre goalie as Potvin's horrible stats show.

Well Goffie you are almost right..Nabby is playing better AND the games have been close. My point is that if your top line could score, this series would be a LOT closer.

C 43 Peter Forsberg PEN 3 0 0 0 -4
R 68 Jaromir Jagr PEN 3 0 0 0 -4
L 18 Ilya Kovalchuk PEN 3 1 0 1 -4

If Jan Bulis can score against Nabokov, these three jerks should be able to.

Sabres 1 at Trash 2.
Sabres put up a good fight on home ice, well they won the first one anyway. The Trash have out shot the Sabres in all 3 games totaling 89 – 72. Trash end it 6 games.

Canes 3 at Bruins 0

Canes are getting it done. As the Bruins IR increase so do the Canes wins… Canes in 5

Pens 0 at Panthers 3.

Thought this would have been closer, Theodore sucks….. I would blame him on the early Pens exit. Panthers in 4…… (I believe I took the Pens in this series)

Sens 2 at Rangers 1

This is a series….. game 7 here we come …… Sens won game 1 (5 – 1). Rangers won game 2 (5 – 1). Sens win game 3 (3 – 1)……….. prediction: Ranger win game 4 (3 – 1). Still take the Sens in 7 (third OT period).

Round 2 Prediction:

Canes @ Trash
Sens @ Panthers
