Bruins lose 2005 Playoff MVP - injury woes

Well, today we got some bad news about team leader (and GM favorite) Pavol Demitra.

Pavol Demitra is set to have surgery on Friday.
"Right now there are just too many problems and they don't really know which one is the problem," said Demitra, who also has been experiencing headaches. "It's either my eye, a mild concussion or a sinus infection. I tried to skate the last two days but I can't really breathe through my nose. They're going to fix that and clean out the sinus infection, and then we'll find out if it's the concussion that's keeping me from playing."

And stalwart winger PJ Axelsson is now not expected back until the end of March.

Frustrating but part of the game. Add Zhitnik into the mix and I am now very happy I acquired some 70OV depth at the deadline. We shall see if they can hold off the Canes in round 1.

The depth of the B's will be put to the test. Losing Demitra is a big blow.

Ouch that hurts, seems like Pavol has been on and off IR all year. Same with the whole Kings organization, they must be having too much fun in the sun down here.

Annnnd the bad news continues to mount for the Bruins. Jason Allison may have a broken hand. He is goin in today for X-Rays. If it is broken that will be another fairly decent sized set back.
