Jays lose to farm team; lose Quiroz on waivers

Sure it's pre-season, but it's still kind of embarrassing.

Also:

C Guillermo Quiroz was claimed off waivers by Seattle. "It's kind of weird, Toronto is a great organization but I know it's a business and that is the way it goes."

Although I've never been impressed with him, wasn't Quiroz supposed to be the catcher of the future?

It was only a 5 inning game...meh

Phillips has had a very good spring from what I've seen so he can backup Molina for the start of the year. Wells has had a rare hot start this spring, can't wait for opening day

Quiroz had some serious injury problems in the past. I'm glad to see him gone, that clears things up a little bit more for the catching position.

With Zaun on the DL Phillips will be the backup for a little while, but when he is taken off the DL will the Jays lose Phillips as well? I bet they will.

They did sign Phillips to a minor league deal, not sure what that means in terms of teams being able to grab him

If they have to send him to the minors he will have to pass through waivers. I would bet he will be claimed.
