Default Culpepper to Miami

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2368259

Things will start happening with the other QB's now.

Brees is going to end up in New Orleans.

Wow, it get's it's own thread?
I just threw it into the FA thread.

Well this changes almost EVERYTHING in regards to the draft.

If NO got Brees they will not be in the market for a QB, meaning Leinhart will go to the Titans...unless the Jets trade with NO to move up and get Leinhart. This just goes and messes everything up. There is now a better chance that a QB of good skill level falls to Oakland/Arizona(probably Young/Cutler).

And for the Vikes....well we get rid of the whiney little baby. Who, as rumours have been stating, enjoied doing NOTHING football related and went out till 3AM on the nights before games. Never watched film, and got away with murder in the Tice era. Get the baby out....
Still can't say it's an odd feeling shipping away 2 franchise players in 2 subsequent years. But this is a new franchise now, new owner, new coaches, new everything...
Can't say we got good value for him, a 2nd rounder is not on par with what his talent level is. But a QB, who tore 3 ligaments, demanded to be traded, and could have been released before March 24th, was shipped out for 2nd rounder.
I'll take it.

Wow Miami just became a contender. Brown at running back and a very good WR group to work with. Not to mention that defense isn't that bad at all.

That's actually pretty good value for him Pagal. That pick is #46 overall. Given the situation, I think you have to be extremely happy with that. Remember, unlike the NHL, that #46 pick COULD concievably come in and start for your football team.

I like that it screws the draft up! We need some intrigue. I want to see New Orleans trade out to somebody. What will Houston do? They've committed to Carr and they have a good back in Davis....will they let Bush go elsewhere and trade down to get some more help?

I love the NFL draft. One of my very favorite weekends of the year!

Scratch what I said above about the exact spot of the Miami pick. They had #46 last year, I'm looking for this years draft order but all I can find is 1st round. Might not be a finalized list because of all the compensatory picks that may be given out.]

Still, I'd stick by my overall point. It's going to be in that neighborhood I would think.

He goes to a really good fit in Miami, a team who still finished the season strong with Sage Rosenfels and Gus Ferot as QBs.

Great Day for the Saints fans, we have a quarterback that will not pass backwards. Nice to see a big name FA head there as that was a big concern, sure the $$$ help too.

I don't beleive it INSTANTLY makes them a contender.
Saban turned the ship around in Miami, but their short term QB problem still is not solved. Culpepper WILL not be ready for traning camp or for the start of the regular season.
But if ANYONE can get to Daunte it has to be Nick Saban, he demands excellancy from all his players. That being said, you take a dude from Minnesota to Miami, and expect him to not get EVEN more distracted, you got something else coming.
If, indeed, Daunte was as distracted in Minny as it seems he was, then good luck with him going to Miami, where the distractions increase tenfold.

A 2nd round pick is GREAT compenstaion for right now in this situation, but it is nowhere near representative of whatDaunte's talent set can be.

If we traded him last offseason, the return would have been MUCH MUCH different. But nothing you can do about it now. Never thought that I would be so happy to see a player leave a team. Now my question is, what do I do with my #11 Culpepper jersey??
