Meh, I know what my team can do. The rest of the games this year are just a test to see how Divis plays should anything happen to Kolzig.

Devils PP continues to fire
Well if the CPHL had a rule where you had to kiss the opposing GM everytime that you tied a game, many CPHL GM's would probably be happy to get a tie game against the Vancouver Canucks (especially noob). The Devils used 4 powerplay goals to achieve such a feat today. Jonas Hoglund and Arron Asham both potted a goal and 2 assists as the Devils and Canucks played to a 6-6 tie. Nils Ekman, Andy Delmore, Martin Biron, and Alexander Svitov also tallied goals for the Devils. After taking a 1-0 lead the Canucks rallied to take a 3-1 lead on goals by Laaksonen, Zubov, and Dvorak. But the Devils scored two late ones in the second on the PP to tie the game after 2. The third period featured a wild finish as the two teams combined for 6 goals in a 6:40 span. The Devils took leads of 5-3 and 6-4 before Trevor Daily and Antti Laksonen managed to get the Canucks a crucial point. The sore spot for the Devils was the goaltending as Sean Burke allowed 5 goals and got his ass chased. Than again the Devils defence is far from stellar.
After all that scoring the two teams must have been tired as nothing materialized in overtime. The Devils did garner 5 shots but Jussi Markkanen refused to let the Devils take the extra point. The Devils will enjoy a day off before facing the Nordiques. A game the Devils would like to win in an effort to make their first round pick number 6 overall and force the Leafs to draft the next Rico Fata instead of the next Dion Phaneuf.

The gauntlet was thrown down and the Sharks bit off Axel's hand as he tried to pick it up...
After being insulted publically by the league's greybeard, the Sharks displayed a passion that has been rarely seen this year. Despite being behind 1-0 and 2-1 the players refused to give in and, with just 23 seconds remaining in the game, solid rookie Jerred Smithson forced the game into OT. The Flames were too tired (likely due to their advanced age) to even put up a fight and were outshot 4-0 in OT. Boyd Devereaux scored the winner at 1:44 (jeez Axel, a $1.44 day special? Ah, brings back memories, eh?).
The Sharks dominated the the season match-up with the Flames, winning 3 of 4. It is a testiment to the spirit of these young players (they really like breezing by these old guys and their walkers!) that they saved the best efforts for the best teams.
Game Stars
1 - Jerred Smithson (SHA)
2 - Jon Klemm (SHA)
3 - Roman Cechmanek (SHA)

The Jets win a low scoring defensive battle vs the Quackers to move 4 points up on 9th place. Not only are the Jets looking okay for a playoff position but they now have games in hand almost every team including the Wild who are just 4 points ahead with 2 more games played. Big game today vs the Thrashers.

Senators survive the breeze.
Getting a 4-3 OT win over the Hurricanes. Things did not look good in the first when we fell down 2-0 to the big bag of wind.
But we clawed our way back to make it 2-1 with a PP goal by Nylander his 31st of the year. This score held up after 2 periods
The third saw the canes make it 3-1 a little over 2 minutes into the 3rd. But the Senators showed what they were made of and clawed back into it. Boytnon got his 10th to make it 3-2. Smyth notched his 35th goal of the year to tie the game. The Canes KOMISAREK then took an ill advised penalty in the last minute of the game. The Sens tried hard to win the game on the PP but failed.
So of to OT. 26 seconds in and still on the PP Kozlov wins the game for the Senators.
Stars of the game were Nylander #1 with a 4 point game. 1G 3a Star #2 was Ryan Smyth 1G 1A. Star #3 Jason Blake
