Bolts Captain on the move

Captain Curtis Brown was dealt today along with veteran Lubomir Sekeras to Ducks for prospects Johnny Boychuk and James Neal

The deal also involved the returning of draft pick. Tampa regains their 2nd round pick in exhange for the Ducks 3rd round pick.

Droopy had this to say about the deal....

Brownie has been a trooper for us this season but his skills have plateaued. Moving him for a couple of top prospects helps this team long term. He will be missed. Also , with Luber's contract status us in the air it was nice to get some assets in return.

With the deal Greg Johnson will now take over as Captain. Nic Havelid and Yannick Tremblay will serve as assistants.

The Ducks were sorry to have to deal such promising propsects Johnny Boychuk and James Neal. But with the thought of making the playoffs and having some extra players around in case of injuries who could fill in when needed the deal had to be made. This is not a deal that would of been made if the Ducks were not in a playoff hunt.

The Ducks will be starting Curtis Brown in todays game against the Canucks.
