The Atom.

I'm no car nut... but this is incredible.

0-60 in under 2.9 seconds, for under 80k?

It's funny when he mentioned the bike he talked about crashing it but didn't say the same about the atom. I guess that's because you'd never experience the crash because you'd be dead from heart attack before she got off the track.

Now that's impressive. I've never seen him so stoked about a car!

Interesting.

Essentially looks and runs like a Formula Vee or Formula 2000 with two seats, mirrors, fenders, lights and indicators.

Is it acutally street legal..in Canada?
From what I gathered, the show's criteria for being a road car was that it can go over a speedbump, and they did have a license plate on it.

But in Canada, you can't get a new GTO because it doesn't make Transport's Canada 5KM bumper test (which is stricter than the US regulations).

That said, I have no idea how those Mercedes Smart Cars meet Transport Canada regulations either.

I wonder how easily it can roll, I'd feel pretty nervous driving one of those.

The competion between the Honda 600 CBR and the Atom wasn't a surprising result. While this bike isn't as fast as say a 1000 CC, the bigger bike would still lose. Open class bikes runnning on the same courses as GP racecars have slower times. Having 4 wheels for cornering is a big advantage.
Wow what a car, too bad it will never get approved in Canada.

I know they approved that guy in Britian to drive around in his big yellow tank.

Yeh, I saw that tank. It's pretty hilarous.
In Canada the expense of jumping through transport Canada's hoops keeps many car and motorcycle models out of here. They need to sell enough to make it worthwhile. I heard a rumour that someday international standards and testing will come into effect making things easier on manufactures and consumers.
