Default Adult Hockey Clinics?

Does anybody know of any hockey clinics for people interested inlearning to play hockey?

I moved to canada 7 years ago and I've been learning how to skate for the lasty 6 months. I want to find a place where I can learn the basics like stick handling and work on improving my skating. I currently play shinny with a few friends of mine, but I really want to accelerate my development.

Thanks in advance

My recommendation would be to sign up for the Hockey North America beginner program.

Hmmmmm... I think it may be time to get over my fear of slapshots to the face. Perhaps a helmet might help. Oh, and I should probably learn to skate better first.

Firefly, a great way to learn to skate is to just jump right into the action.

I hadn't been on and beice skates for something like 17 years when I took up playing hockey again (about 3 years ago). My skating kinda stunk, and it still isn't all that great, but I can feel it getting better all the time.

I'm with Buff on this one. I'm in about the same boat; skated a bit as a kid but mostly played road hockey. Now in my mid 30's, I got into playing with some buddies. It's been about 3 years, and I can also feel myself getting better all the time. The other guys used to play down to my level a bit, but that happens less and less as I'm starting to make the odd play. I still haven't given up on making the NHL.

Bottom line is have fun with it.

And, if anybody has any adult hockey schools; I'd be interested as now I'm getting to the point where I could use some lessons to help improve my game.

The U of C used to have a good program - men and women combined. It was taught by Shane Doan's brother at the time I went. You go through fundamental drills the first half then scrimmage in the second half.
