Well there certainly wasn't any Pop and Chips at our high school parties, unless the Pop was used to mix with the Rye.

$65!?!?!??!!??!?!?!!
THAT'S IT??????
WOW
welcome to Nova Scotia, when I was in highschool we didn't say you were charged with underaged drinking, but "got a 395"
395 wasn't a code for underage drinking, THAT was the fine (plus tax). Now it's even more than that (being of age I don't care what it is anymore :P)
$65, even US is a steal

I will never understand the 21 drinking age in the US. Its so high its ridiculous....these kids are long past the age where they have the ability to be self-aware, but still they are kept from drinking for some horribly outdated moralistic value. The more you tell these kids not to drink, the faster they they will reach for the bottle.
I dunno about you guys, but my parents weaned me onto alcohol at a fairly early age with drinks here and there. By the time I was 18, i knew how to handle my alcohol responsbly, and didnt go out and get sh*tfaced just because I could.

That's exactly like me. One of the greatest lessons my parents taught me was to treat alcohol as a beverage to be enjoyed, not a tool to get tanked off of.
It's exactly like you said, the more "forbidden" it is, the faster they'll reach for the bottle and drink with others not experienced with alcohol - which can be very dangerous when you don't know how to drink responsibly. Such a high drinking age, IMO, will lead to further alcohol abuse.

I started drinking at 16, I told my mom about it too.. she wasn't happy, but couldn't do anything to stop me. She just told me not to overdo it. And most often I don't. Next weekend is the Cochrane bender though.. it's my duty to get tanked and have a terrible night. Last year invloved me passing out at 10 PM in the middle of a field, the year before.. officially the worst night of my life.

Wearing a cape, viking horns, weilding an axe and an empty glass whilst going to the store to purchase gatorade and a glo-stick...nah..you never over-do it.

It's legendary
We were camping, and after about 2 Rye and Ginger Kermit started to lose control. He created a makeshift cape using a tarp and rope, stole a friends set of viking horns, and off to a nearby store we went. On the way over we encountered a conservation officer, who made kermit pour his drink out. So we enter the store..with the sole intent of purchasing gatorade and a glo-stick (someone requested we buy this) So Kermit asks the girl that works there "Do you have any glo-sticks?" and consider the humourous costume he was wearing as he asked this. So the girl says "uhh...No" just as she says that, I see in front of me a colorful little package labeled "Super GLO-STICKS!" so I exclaim "yes! glo-sticks!" and we purchased that and a gatorade bottle. On that way back up to our campsite, Kermit lost his footing and fell all the way back down the muddy hill (it had just poured) and he needed someone to drive around to the road and pick him up, and his night was over at 9:30. the next day we found the gatorade bottle, covered in mud.
legendary I tell you, legendary!
