Anyone with a Treo 650? Update on software issues....

Hey all, I know a couple of you have mentioned you have the Palm Treo 650 and are irritated with the software issue it has. Just to let you know before you get the letter, there is now a software upgrade available for it.

From our internal site:

Clients will be directed to visit www.telusmobility.com/palmtreo to download the new software and get detailed instructions on the upgrade process. Clients will complete the upgrade from the Palm site at: http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/treo650updater/cdma.html

The software upgrade will take approximately 20 minutes.

Upgrade Conditions

• Updating the software will remove all 3rd party applications, including contacts, calendar information, and emails.
• Before updating the device it is strongly recommended that clients synchronize the Treo 650 with their PC using Hotsync. This will ensure the successful backup and restoration of 3rd party applications (such as the Handango™ Software Store!).

For those of you with the Rogers version (yes, that's you Tron!) I imagine you can do it at the palm site, just switch the CDMA at the end of the link to GSM or something. I'm sure it's there somewhere anyways.

no idea yet. They don't tell us until it's out, or if we need training on it, about a week before it's out.

Yeah, I just did all that yesterday. There's a hard reset (top secret apparently, the guy wouldn't show me how to do it) and once the new software gets installed it works fine. No issues so far.....which is good.

I've had my Rogers Treo 650P for just over a week (got it last Tuesday) and must say I absolutely love it. I had to install some extra software (VolumeCare... will definitely buy it once the trial period is up) so I could hear people easier but I love the ability to extend the "phone" with whatever I want. Text messaging on the QWERTY keyboard is awesome and the calendar is great.

Tron: there are links out there describing how to do a Hard reset (reset and erase all data) - I think there are instructions on Palm's website. I'll see if I can find a link.

What's volume care? Will that increase the volume in the phone?
